CRL win coworking space of the year at The West London Business Awards!
We are delighted to announce that Central Research Laboratory (CRL) was awarded ‘co-working space of the year’ at The West London Business Awards ceremony, which took place on Thursday 1 February at Wembley Stadium.
The CRL was created as a specialist space, dedicated to the unique requirements of makers and entrepreneurs, and has been an ambitious part of the regeneration of the wider Old Vinyl Factory site in Hayes. With a proud heritage of manufacture and technical innovation as EMI Record’s headquarters, regeneration specialists U+I Group Plc wanted to reimagine research labs for the 21st Century. What could be more contemporary than 3D printers and co-working space full of tech entrepreneurs? We are proud to have had our space recognised in this way, particularly by an organisation that works to highlight, celebrate and support West London based businesses.
The event was hosted by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, a former wheelchair racer, a parliamentarian and a television presenter.
Our Co-working Manager, Alice Johnson, says of the win:
“It’s fantastic that almost one year to the week of launching our Coworking space in Hayes, and welcoming over 40 new businesses into our space, that we have achieved such an accolade. The success of our coworking space is a testament to the staff team and our members, who have themselves formed a productive eco system and collaborate with one another in order to achieve great business success”
CRL’s MD, Mat Hunter, commented:
“Our mission is to support ambitious businesses and to show them that West London, Hayes in particular, is a great place to be located. We are delighted that our work has been recognised in this way”.
