On Friday 7 February, over 500 guests from across West London descended upon Twickenham Stadium to celebrate business excellence at The West London Business Awards 2020. TV & Radio presenter Gaby Roslin hosted the awards ceremony. Finalists represented accountants to tech accelerators; mobile payment to packaging – many companies from many backgrounds took the spotlight as business excellence in west London was once again highlighted to a global audience.
The big winners of the night were Wrapology, who claimed the prestigious title of West London Company of the Year 2020; in addition to being named Export/International Business of the Year. Wrapology makes, manages and moves packaging for global brands, from their base in Park Royal. Wrapology’s mission is for sustainability to be at its core, with every employee and client engaging with at least one of their sustainability principles in every packaging order. In 2018 they invested more in prototyping, staff learning, communication and technology. The outcome of this journey was Wrapology’s ‘6-pillars of sustainability’ which are now their starting points for new product development both with clients and suppliers.
The seventh edition of the awards once again recognised individual achievements; with Andrew Brammer of Kerry Foods being named West London Business Leader of the Year and Tak Takumine of Japan Centre Group awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Business Award.
Another notable winner of the evening was Alexanders Removals and Storage of Park Royal who claimed Park Royal Business of The Year – joining an elite group of companies to claim a win at three separate WLB Awards ceremonies (2017, 2019, 2020).
Local talent groups Alliance Dance Unit, Step-Free Dance, FlowFuzion and DJ Rusty Egan entertained guests throughout the evening. The awards also helped raise funds for the official charity of the 2020 awards, West London Zone.
Awards host Gaby Roslin, said:
“It was a pleasure to host the West London Business Awards last Friday, and to see the inspiring things being done by businesses in West London. Congratulations to all the winners, highly commended businesses and finalists!”
Andrew Dakers, Chief Executive of West London Business and a member of the judging panel said of the winners:
“All our categories were more competitive than ever and all the entrants can take huge pride in their achievements. This year’s entries highlighted the great strides that West London businesses are making on social and environmental sustainability, as well delivering a profit for investors and owners. Special congratulations to the Wrapology team for securing the title of West London Company of the Year and Alexanders our Park Royal Company of the Year.
